Hello, I am having a few problems with my old gaming rig. It is a couple years old now but still very good for the price.
My specs:
CPU: i5 4690k (non-overclocked)
Motherboard: Mini-ITX LGA 1150 Gigabyte Mobo
GPU: GTX 970 Zotac 4gb
RAM: 8gb DDR3 ram
HDD: 1TB WD Blue
PSU: 500 watts EVGA 80+ Bronze
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master 212 Hyper EVO
Case: Fractal Design Core 500 (mini-ITX)
1 fractal design exhaust fan and 1 Noctua intake fan above the PSU due to CPU cooler height restrictions.
I recently transported my system to mini-ITX and for a while I had really good temperatures and no noise but recently I switched from the Corsair H60 (cause it was really loud) to a new 212 Hyper EVO.
At idle all my components get to around 30-35 degrees when at idle. During intensive gaming of Skyrim Special Edition (though hardly a demanding game) and the Witcher 3 (a very demanding game) my CPU reaches temps of 40-45 degrees though no higher then that. My mobo gets pretty hot at around 40-50 degrees though usually 40-45 during gaming. My gpu for some reason cranks up to 60 degrees and the fans get really, REALLY loud. I assume the noise if from my GPU fans cause there are 2 fans making the noise though it could be my Noctua fan but I am loath to take off my case lid to find out because it is a pain to put back on!
Basically I am wondering if these temperatures seem normal or not and am wondering if temps would improve if I got a new case (I am considering the Fractal Define Nano S or the Phantex Evlov ITX case) or removed a dust filter or something.
I might get a new GPU but can only afford the GTX 1060 which isn't a huge improvement over my 970. Still might get it anyway due to temps and power draw, etc.
Any thoughts on my problem? Many thanks in advance!!!!
