System spec:
CPU: Core i5 4690k
CPU FAN: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
Motherboard: MSI Z87 G43 (Supports 4 memory modules)
RAM: 16 GB (2 x 8GB) Corsair Vengeance (CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10)

I want to add 16GB Memory to the setup but there is a constraint, the big CPU Fan. I cannot add another set of Corsair Vengeance 8GB because of its height. So I'm looking for another Memory module very similar in spec and compatible with the currently installed - 16 GB (2 x 8GB) Corsair Vengeance (CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10).

So can you please tell me if I can go ahead and add 16 GB (2 x 8GB) Kingston FURY Memory - 8GB Module - DDR3 1600MHz CL10 DIMM alongwith 16 GB (2 x 8GB) Corsair Vengeance (CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10).

  • I do graphic design and branding in Adobe Suites
Am adding 3D animations, VFx and video editing to my skillset.
I do some Android Dev & coding and
I do play some Graphics demanding games like Batman Arkham Knight, Grand Theft Auto V, Far Cry Primal etc. for which I've Gigabyte G1 Gaming 4GB 960 GTX

So thinking of all the above applications, I thought I should upgrade from 16 GB RAM to 32 GB but having an issue due to the big CPU fan

There's no guarantees when mixing packages of DRAM even if you get an identical set, try to pair the ones you list may even be more problematic as the Fury run off PnP wher the others are XMP based. We've seen a lot of folks where they tried these and no luck at all

I don't think there are any such nice cooler (near the price range of my cuurent one : Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO) which has clearance for Corsair Vengeance RAMs

and beside price wise:
Cooler Master costs ~ Rs. 3500 (had to get it imported from the US, took me 25 days to get delivery)
and
Memory modules will cost me ~ Rs. 6000 (for two 8GBs)

Thank you all
I think I've to take a different approach and may be replace the two Corsair memory modules with four Kingston Hyper.

I can use the two in another system may be

I just measured it roughly and I think I'll have to replace the fans ~1.6 centimeters. Won't this shift affect the efficiency of the cooler?
