Finally picked up my first SSD, the 250G 850 EVO dropped to $75 on Amazon so I just couldn't pass it up. It will be my Windows 10 boot/app drive with a 1TB HDD for storage.
I've read plenty of posts and articles over the years and realize that a lot of the past optimizations are overkill for today's better endurance nand flash. Here's a shortened list of optimizations I've compiled that I believe might still be relevant. Looking for help/suggestions on what I might be missing or are unnecessary.
-TURN SYSTEM PROTECTION OFF (restore points)
-Reduce pagefile size??? (I don't believe in disabling the pagefile)
-TURN HIBERNATION OFF (powercfg -h off)
-Windows ‘Optimize Drives’ Sets Automated TRIM for SSD and Defrag For HDD
-DISABLE DRIVE INDEXING
-DISABLE WINDOWS SEARCH (Windows Services)
-CONFIRM TRIM IS ENABLED
Thanks in advance...
