Are these parts a good combo?

Ryzen 1600, AsRock B350m pro 4, TeamElite Plus 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory? Can I overclock? Would I need to buy extra parts to overclock, as I am on a very tight budget?

I'm definitely gonna game 1080p with this build, ...potentially 4k in the future? Also maybe some video recording and editing with premiere. And are 6 cores enough to stream?

Thanks for your help!

hi there, the only thing I can see is maybe adding another stick of ram to enable dual channel memory. 2x4gig or 2x8 if you can afford it. Also Ryzen responds really well to higher clocked memory so depending on your mobo compatibility the higher the better. I believe ASRock has a page that displays the compatible ram for that board.

6 cores should be fine for streaming + gaming and the 1600 O.C.'s to around 3.9 on the stock cooler most of the time so no extra parts needed.

good luck!
Those work great together! However, that motherboard is not good for overclocking and you would need to spend money on a hefty CPU cooler. Honestly, if youre on a tight budget don't worry about overclocking. The performance gain is not worth the extra money, time, heat, and noise. You are better off saving for another 8gb stick of RAM to get that build up to 16GB.

For less money, I think you should get this:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel - Core i5-8400 2.8GHz 6-Core Processor ($199.89 @ B&H)
Motherboard: MSI - Z370-A PRO ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($96.98 @ Newegg)
Memory: Team - Elite Plus 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($84.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $381.86

Way better CPU and it costs less money. What is your max budget for this upgrade? What id your current GPU?

this chart shows an overclocked CPU which you wouldnt even be able to do with the current setup. Intel is best for this build.

Two things

1. Do you mind listing the fps benchmarks for Overwatch please as that is the game I play mostly? Also what site is that?

2. I checked out your suggestion and the RAM will be the same for both builds as that one went out of stock. Here is my new RAM for $115 after tax and shipping fees: https://www.pc-canada.com/item/BLS8G4D240FSA.html

The processor was much cheaper, however, the motherboard was quite expensive making it the same as my current build above.

In answer to your questions, I am building a brand new gaming computer for the first time. Here is my part picker list on what I'm planning to buy right now, unless my mind changes, the manual prices are the cost and after tax and shipping.

https://pcpartpicker.com/user/themroic/saved/NyRqkL

Also, you may not have noticed but I live in Canada with Canadian pricing.

Note: I'm probably going to have to sell my current case as I don't think the slot for a normal GPU like the rx460, 580, 1050ti is wide enough. I might just get the $45 Deepcool tesseract. The motherboard I purchased for 85$ after my rebate but I could potentially sell that if need be.

Oh that's my bad when I suggested those parts I had USA prices in mind not CAD.

That build you linked needs a GPU since ryzen doesnt have an iGPU.

I'm most likely going to get the rx480 as my budget for a GPU is $400. Thoughts? Also, what site did you use for the benchmarks

I just looked up the benchmark on Google I dont remember where I got the chart from.

I personally like the 1060 better than the 480 even though they perform the same. Nvidia has better drivers and is quieter, draws less power, and outputs less heat. https://www.forbes.com/sites/jasonevangelho/2016/07/19/crunching-the-numbers-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1060-versus-amd-radeon-rx-480/2/#7d49ef02405e
