Are these parts compatible?

This is my first build and I am in a bit of a rut. Are these parts compatible? Any advice, recommendation or criticism will be appreciated. The goal is 4K video editing.

CPU: Intel i7-6850K
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080
MOBO: MSI Z270 GAMING M3 2X PCIe x16 SLOTS
RAM: Ballistix Elite 32GB Kit
STORAGE: Seagate ST1000DM010n SATA 6.0GB/s 3.5" 7200RPM/64MB
POWER SUPPLY: SP-1000MPCBUS 1000W THERMALTAKE
TOWER: ?? Dimensions??

Your CPU requires a X99 platform motherboard, not a z270 board.

Just change your motherboard and you should be good to go.

I would however, change your power supply, get a tier one PSU. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html pick from anyone on the tier one portion of the list.

Regarding your case, it is entirely up to preference whether you want a half-tower or full-tower. Unless you're going to be able to fill the space, I would prefer a half-tower case for aesthetic reasons but this is a purely personal thing. Look around and see what you like!

Thank you for the information. I'll swap for an x99 motherboard and will go with your suggestion of half tower. Checking the power supply options now.
