Hello,

Are the following power supplies okay for my system? Which would you choose?

1. FPS Hammer 600W

2. Antec Atom V550

3. Cooler Master PK600W ELITE V3

4. ZALMAN 600W ZM600-TXII

5. SilverStone 500W ST50F-ES-230

6. HEC Cougar STX550 80 Plus 550W

7. Antec VP600P

The following is my system configuration:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
Motherboard: Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite
RAM: 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200MHz
GPU: EVGA GeForce RTX 2060
HDD: Western Digital 2TB Blue 5400RPM
SSD: Samsung EVO 960 Plus 250GB
Chassis with 3x120mm font fans and 1x120mm rear fan

Solution

For many PCs, yes. For one in which you invested in a modern Ryzen platform and a 2060? No.

You're cutting corners in the wrong place. For these specs, Tier B on our housed PSU tier list is the minimum I'd be comfortable with. It's really weird to pay extra to go from a 3600 to a 3600x -- or as Steve Burke noted in his review, you're paying $50 for a letter -- and then use an old, group-regulated PSU.
