Are these read/write speeds normal for my Samsung 850 EVO SSD?

I recently installed a Samsung 850 EVO to my laptop. What I did was replace the HDD in my laptop with the SSD, and cloned my HDD to my SSD.

First of all, was I correct in doing so? Should I have just done a clean install of windows to the SSD? The main reason I didn't do that was because I didn't want to reinstall all the programs and enter the product keys.

Secondly, what read/write speeds are considered normal for this SSD? What can I do to improve the performance. I currently don't have RAPID mode enabled because I'm running Windows 10, and Magician 4.5 won't let me enable it. (It says there's an error in obtaining info about the OS version).

Thanks for your answers.

Update: Sorry! Just realized I didn't attach a screenshot of Magician and my speeds:

i use windows 10 and magician 4.5 and don't have the same issue.. magician has a built in benchmark, that should be somewhat accurate to how fast it is and how fast it should be. enabling rapid uses RAM as a cache speeding up the performance of the drive a bit.

Both read/write speeds should be in the high400's to low 500's .

Your results are interesting. I wonder why they have ... at the end of the numbers. Without rapid mode enabled I would assume it to top out below 550mb/s and your 277... implies as if there's more of a result to show. (Unless it's just a resolution issue with the software and your video output). However if the software is reporting SQ Reads of 277 and SW of 527 with IOPS as low as 1656 and 43655, that's pretty low...

*What type of machine are you running in?*

Perhaps you should look into running a different software as I think the magician software 4.5 doesn't support windows 10. Might not be a good reading. Maybe try crystal disk?
