Are these similiar enough to upgrade without reinstalling windows?

Im upgrading from my broken Asus M5A78L-M LX3 to Asus M5A78L LE. I read that if they are similiar, windows will load without having to reinstall windows. Do I have to do the reinstall?

"Good" chance you will be OK, I would say..

They're both using the same chipset, "AMD 760G (780L)/SB710", so I'd say there's a good chance you will not need to re-install windows.

Being OEM, it will almst certainly deactivate itself. Being a broken motherboard replacement, you can 'probably' activate it over the phone, either via the phone robot or a human.

Will it run the first time? Probably. No guarantees, though.

best thing is to boot into safe mode and uninstall all the motherboard drivers. then boot into windows and reinstall the new drivers.
