Are These Specs Good For Gaming?

I am getting a gaming desktop so that I can play games like Ark, Dayz, Farcry 4, Fallout 4, ect. I was wondering if these specs would be able to play these games and games in the future on the maximum settings without lag. Any help or suggestions would be great!

Specs -

CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-4690 3.50 GHz 6MB

HDD: 1TB SATA-III 6.0Gb/s 32MB Cache 7200RPM HDD

MEMORY: 8GB (4GBx2) DDR3/2133MHz Dual Channel Memory

MOTHERBOARD: GIGABYTE G1.Sniper Z97 ATX w/ Killer GbLAN, 2 PCIe x16, 3 PCIe x1, 2 PCI, Creative Sound Core3D / AMP-UP, 6x SATA 6Gb/s

VIDEO: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4GB GDDR5 PCIe 3.0 x16

Yeah, this will play all the games you stated at good settings. Probably not max, but at least high at 60+ FPS 1080P.

The monitor is great. One of the best valued ones on the market today, considering it's 144hz.

Thanks for the info, I was wondering if I should get a i5 or an i7, what do you think?
 


i7 is overkill. It's for multi-tasking, rendering, etc. The i5 is enough for gaming, though.
