Are these temps adequate?

I'm running a FX-8320 on Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0. It's cooled by a Cooler Master Hyper 412s. The temperatures under full load (PRIME95) are:

CPU Heatsink: 68°C
CPU Core: 54°C

Are these temperatures alright or should I consider buying an additional chassis fan

Edit: Its running on stock speeds

Solution
``I'm okay with the temps, I'm just wondering if it's healthy for the cpu``
first its not possible to know the real core temp of all FX cpu ..only margin temps
there is no softwares on the planet will give you an accurate temps on FX cpu
you only need a good after market cpu cooler like the evo 212 or rajintek themis and higher
put correctly the thermal paste on the cpu and get a good ventilation in your case

Those temps look high for a decent aftermarket cooler like that. Maybe the 8320 runs hotter, but I've got an overclocked FX-6300 (4.2Ghz) that typically runs 14C to 15C cooler than that on Prime 95. I'm using Noctua cooler with smaller fans (92mm).

There are lots of reasons for different temps (like ambient temps), thermal paste installation, mounting of the cooler, case exhaust fans, CPU cooler fan speeds.

IMO, the stock ASUS cpu fan speed profile are set too high for AMD processors. They don't crank up the fans to 100% speed until the CPU socket temp hits 70C. I manually set mine in BIOS to hit full fan speed at 50C, but setting it down to 60C would be OK too. When the CPU hits those temps, I want to throw all the cooling I have at it, not leave some unused with lower fan speeds.

When set to 70C, your fans aren't running at 100% at those temps with a Prime95 torture test. If not then, when would you want the fans to run at full speed? :)

Don't forget that this fan is always spinning at 100% as there's no PWM.

Also when it's idle the socket temp is around 30-35°C. It's just that when there's a high usage of CPU it goes up to 68°C

Edit: also the cpu cools down very quickly after prime95 is closed

You could upgrade the cooler really easily with a couple of good PWM fans clipped on to your tower fins in place of the slim fans :)

Are you sure the fan runs 100% constantly on that MB? A lot of ASUS motherboards do variable voltage control of 3-pin fans. No way to tell for sure without trying! It would drive me crazy to have the CPU fans running wide open all the time.

AI Suite shows the max rpm all the time so I suppose it is, and yeah you're right but I can't get that working and honestly I don't really mind buying a new cpu cooler after a year or so

I don't know if this could be related to the temps but the cooler "pins" slightly flex the transparent plastic part of the case >_<

I've got this PC as a surprise for bday but i guess it wasn't built too too well -_-

If the tight fit is applying a very small amount of pressure evenly across all eight of the heat pipe tips, then it probably would not hurt your cooling. However, if the pressure is uneven, then it would make for poor contact between the cooler and the CPU and hurt your cooling.

I can't think of any really good options for fixing it.

Just to be clear, your temps are not horrible. It's not like those are going to burn up your CPU. They are just higher than they should be with that processor at stock speeds and an aftermarket cooler.

Finally found the reply button...

Well it looks like an even pressure... Yeah well is there a possibility i could go for 4ghZ?
