Hi folks,

Are Viewsonic monitors good quality products? I'm looking at possibly buying the following Viewsonic monitor:

ViewSonic VX2363SMHL
http://www.viewsonic.com.au/products/lcd/VX2363Smhl-W.php#pSpecs

Otherwise, I will get the following ASUS monitor:

Asus VC239H
https://www.asus.com/us/Monitors/VC239H/specifications/

Any advice would be much appreciated...

From what I can see, the Viewsonic has 0.2652mm pixel pitch, compared with 0.311mm for the ASUS monitor. Plus, the Viewsonic has a 2ms response time, compared with 5ms for the ASUS. Also, the Viewsonic has x2 HDMI ports and and MHL. However, the ASUS has a higher contrast ratio (80M:1 compared with 50M:1) and is 'TUV certified' Flicker-free (I don't see any certification for the Viewsonic). People usually say that ASUS is a goodbrand, but when comparing these specs the Viewsonic monitor looks better to me.

What do you folks think?

Many thanks!

It sounds like a decision's been made, but I'll throw my two pence in as I've owned that exact monitor.

It performed flawlessly and never gave me a problem; not even a dead pixel. The only thing that bugged me was the OSD, but that's just a personal preference.

Thanks scout_03

How do they compare with ASUS monitors?

Between the two monitors above (ViewSonic VX2363SMHL and Asus VC239H) would you go with the Viewsonic then?

Thanks bicycle_repair_man

Are you referring to the ASUS or Viewsonic monitor? (I'm guessing Viewsonic but just thought I'd check!).

Great, thanks scout_03

How reliable is Viewsonic's flicker-free technology compared with ASUS's do you think? It's important to me that the monitor is 100% flicker-free...

Sounds good, I think I'll order the Viewsonic monitor then. Thanks scout_03

By the way, can you turn off the front power light so it's not lit up and visible even when the monitor is turned on?

Also, do you know how to turn off the laptop monitor when you're using the external (Viewsonic) monitor instead?

Ok thanks scout_03!
