Hi everyone,

Since it would be a pain to bring Ethernet cables to the place there are meant to, I am going to buy a couple of security wifi cameras, but I read that wifi cameras can be knocked out. How exactly?
Thanks

I have several cameras on the house. For me, security cameras and WiFi do not go together.

Unlikely anyone who is close enough would "knock them out". But the WiFi might be intercepted and allow someone else to connect to it.

A LOT of the second rate 'brands' have major vulnerabilities....default admin password hard coded in, etc.

It would almost be easier to take a bat and smash a camera that try to electronically attack it. Technically someone could jamb the camera but you need to be very close.

Unless you are looking at solar powered cameras you have to have power for the camera so you have to run a wire anyway. You might consider using a powerline network adapter in the outlet instead and then use ethernet to run the camera.
