Discussion Are you addicted to High Definition ?

Hi,
I use Digital Cable at home. There is a huge number of channels. Some of them are paid and some are FTA (Free To Air). In my case no matter what I want to watch be it news, sports, music, info-entertainment I only like to watch in High Definition. If a channel is offered in SD it simply doesn't exist for me. Sounds crazy right ?

Anyone shares my habit ?

High definetion is just better, of course i'd perfer it.
I would say its unwatch able to watch 480p, atleast on a phone or less than 21.5 inch display.
on a tv its probably quite noticable

if i dont see a video on youtube with 1080p quality i am dissapointed. Im not spoiled or somthing but most of the videos in 2020 are atleast in 1080p,so you get used to it over time.

I was watching Sundance channel yesterday. They were running a "Hogan's Heros" (started 1965) marathon. Obviously a non-HD original program. But it looked good. I don't know if this is the channel upsampling and smoothing, or if they have better quality source material.

I don't know if you have to wear glasses, but for me its like going into a movie theater (pre-covid) and not cleaning the lenses before the film begins. Its just wrong.

But going from a 50inch 1080p to 55 inch4k is a world of difference.
Plus it seems Samsung's upscaling is very good.
