Hi guys, so im planning on building my first ”serious” computer. Its gonna be for video editing in Adobe after effects and premiere pro! Much 4K footage and 1080p and much effects and so on. Now to the thing! Im not anywhere near good at what components you should have when its about editing! But i have tried on my own to build something toghether and i was thinking if you guys could take a look on it? Like tell me if i should change something or if you have a build yourself that you would recommend!

My budget is around 1800$

Here is the cart i have made with computer parts! Hope you can see it!

Solution
Its very nice,it needs a very good cpu cooler adding though - the 8700k doesnt come with one & it runs very very hot under sustained workloads.

I would personally be looking at the ryzen 2700x at 3289 krona (which comes with a decent cooler)

paired with the pro carbon ac board at 2139 krona

You can then dump that additional wireless card & up the gpu to a 1050 or 1050ti (If your encoding software supports cuda rendering these cards are twice as powerful as a gt1030)

Everything else is good.

For productivity though (& if youre not bothered about the windowed side) Consider the Fractal R6,its silent ,has incredible preinstalled cooling & is quite simply one of the best cases around.

It is available with a glass panel too but at a premium price

Solution
1. Go for Ryzen 7 2700 or 2700x
2. Go for at least GTX1050 or better
3. Pick B450 motherboard
4. No need for 2 SSDs, just go for 1x 250-500GB NVM and one big HDD.
5. Pick case without side window if it can reduce the cost
6. 650W is not really necessary even for gtx1070. Perhaps you can find cheaper 500-550W.

Software rendering in premier pro the ryzen is quicker than the 8700k, hardware rendering premier pro can use the igp on the intel chip which knocks 25% off render times.
However thats exactly the case with the ryzen too.

I suppose the 8700k would allow you to drop the gt 1030 from the build entirely if you have no use whatsoever for gaming etc.
You still need to add $100+ to the 8700k for cooling though plain & simple.

Premier pro should support cuda rendering in which case a ryzen 2700x paired with a gxt 1050 would blitz the 8700k in any scenario you care to mention.

If you guys have time, could you make a shopping cart on a random computer site with the perfect setup in your thoughts? Im not so good at computer parts so this makes me a bit lost hahah 😀
