Are you having lag problems with the Y2K3 mod?

I've been speaking with TooTall about his work on the mod, and he's coming
from the point of view that the mod isn't that laggy for most people.

I'm running a mediocre system, with 512 RAM, 128 MB GeForce FX 5900, 1.8Ghz,
and I know, as is, that I'm not going to be using the mod that much because,
even on the medium sized mission, I experience too much lag.

So, I'm asking you (those of you who have played with the mod): Are you
experiencing lag? Will you use the mod?

I already stopped using it. I can't take it anymore. Way too slow, and I'm
using a 3.4 GHz machine with a GeForce 5950 card!

Thanks

How much RAM do you have. Just curious.

512MB RAM. I'm still using Win98SE for gaming and I read some where that
anything more is a waste.

Thanks

I have an XP3200 with 1 gig of PC3200 Kingston RAM, 160 Gig SATA drive,
a Ti4200 128 Meg vid card, that runs DOOM 3 and FarCry just fine, as
well as LOMAC, OFP w/o the W2K3 mod.

The mod runs badly on my system. I would like to use it, but cannot.

It seems playable on about 90% of the missions I have played it with. I also have that reflective
water mod going as well, and hi res sky and ground. I would say 10% or so speed drop on most
mission, although theres also a lot more glitching (dropped frames, probably because of big textures
being moved around in memory), but this only really affects cutscenes

XP2800, 1Gb PC2700, ATI 9800 pro 128Mb

I think you're on to something when you say the 1Gb is the main factor.
