Hello so my friend bought the same cpu/mobo/cooler as i have.

Amd Threadripper 3960x
Cooler Master MASTERLIQUID ML360 RGB TR4 EDITION WITH RGB CONTROLLER
Asrock Trx40 Creator

he then decided to put some rgb fans in and the motherboard do have argb and rgb hearders.

He then bought

https://www.fractal-design.com/products/fans/prisma/prisma-al-14-pwm/rgb/x4
and decided to test them first but didnt read the specs on the package and he then connected it the 4 pin rgb connector on the motherboard and it seem to fry the led in the fans that i read as 5v argb fans.

now is there any chance he also could have fried something else in his pc like the motherboard or the cables?

he's pc seem to run fine benchmark fine run games fine and all seem to work but is there a chance it can fry anything else besides the fan led?

It wouldn't work well if anything is damaged. RGB/ARGB have own chip and supply.

Ok so since the argb/rgb works it must meen that everything is ok?

The headers on the motherboard and cables seems to be workkng fine
