How does one reconnect this to a PC and reset the admin password? Helping someone that had a power outage and now cannot connect back.

There may be a factory reset button on there somewhere. Figure out which model you have and look for the manual to check if there is and how to use it.

Right.
but in the case of this NAS...the "reset" may or may not do bad things to the data.
That is why you find the user manual and see what it says.
And, that is why you have a good backup, just in case.

Was only given name not model number. Its okay. I figured the reset doesn't do anything with the data. And some manuals say its only for the admin password reset is what needs to be done. But will wait to hear back.

Are you in possession of the NAS unit or no? Because there should be a model number or some identification of such either on the hardware itself or on the web interface or whatever user interface you use to service it.
