ArmA 3- Low Fps in Multiplayer Only 20-30 fps max- Decent specs

Hi, in Arma on multiplayer servers with 50+ people i guess, I joined a 2 server with 2 players in it once and easily hit 60 fps but on populated servers, get 20- 30 fps for the max. My settings dont really affect it. I can have ultra at 20 frames. I usually play all high or very high so that the CPU wont kick in (makes frames worse). Is there a REAL way to fix this. I have been looking for about a week now. I EXCEED recommended requirements (they are really outdated though). Is there only an issue with AMD? I do realize that servers matter with fps and Arma's engine is legit garbage. I really like this game and would like to get the most out of it.Thank You! BTW SP pl;ays at 30 frames ULTRA and Very high is 50 frames.

Only thing I can really tell you is turn your view distance down, other than that ARMA 3 really just is that bad of a engine. Especially when you mix lag into it.

Yup, your rig isn't that different from mine, and I get around those frames. Sorry, but Arma 3 is just that unoptimized.

Hi,

I have nearly the same setup as yours and I recently figured out how some people with the same setup as me are getting better FPS. Firstly you need to make sure you have Core C6 State, C1E, Turbo Core, Thermal Throttling disabled in your BIOS. After you have done that, boot into Windows and install AMD Overdrive and make sure you enable Smart Profile during the install. Once the program is launched go into Smart Profile and create a profile for ArmA 3 which is by creating Custom Rules > Add > Add the ArmA3.exe and then once you have done that go ahead on the right side of that program go to [Rule Type] and select Custom and then below that check all the boxes for the Core0 - Core7 and also check Boost State as well. Also on the top right where it says Process Priority set that to High and then Click Apply. You can also go ahead and set Core0 Multipler to like Default + 3 or Default + 4.and if you done that go ahead and click Apply once again.

I'm getting around 40 - 60 FPS in ArmA 3 at Kavala with my view distance set at 3200 with near Ultra settings

well... did what you just mention but Windows 10 didn't like that.
When ARMA booted up a blue screen with a error appears.
Then in reboot it still give me errors (with a )

The second one was a WatchDog error.

So, did a system restore and I could boot up again.
I did disabled the stuff in the BIOS.

Running a FX8340 (4 GHz) and GTX770, 16GB ram. 2x SSD 840 (256 GB), 2x SSD 850 (512GB)

Never disable thermal throtling. If a day your cooling die, your cpu will die too !

Amd processors are really bad at gaming today. Multiplayer is taxing a lot the cpu. Sir you are bottlenecked.

Watchdogue error is due to the lack of wattage of your CPU. Beware the temps if you add some.
