Good day,

Introductions first:
My name is Jarus and I work as a Software Developer for a South African IT company. My hobbies include home studio recording, home automation (newbie to this!), and loving dogs.

My question:
I recently built (with the help of a friend/colleague) a new PC for my home studio.

I have the following components (running Windows 11 Home):
  • Armaggeddon Tron Holo-5 ATX case
  • Cooler Master V650 SFX Gold PSU
  • Gigabyte A520M DS3H Motherboard
  • AMD Ryzen 5 5600G 6-Core 3.9 GHz AM4 CPU
  • Samsung 990 PRO with Heatsink NVMe M.2 SSD 1TB
  • Corsair VENGEANCE® RGB PRO SL 2x8GB
  • DeepCool FK120 120mm FDB PWM Silent Fan x 2

My first problem is this: It seems every time I shutdown my PC, it has problems starting up again. And I mean it does NOTHING, even when switching the PSU power off and on, and pressing the power button on the case. This is until I "fiddle" with the Armaggeddon's power button connector (inside the case). Initially, I thought the connector was bad, but lately I am led to believe that I just need to "earth" the screw on the power button, and then everything starts up.

My second problem (although this is less concerning) is that the case's built-in RGB (i.e. the hologram on the front) does not come on at all, even after successfully starting the PC.
  1. Has anybody else experienced this?
  2. Can anybody advise on the correct way to wire the case to the motherboard and power supply?
Thank you in advance!
Jarus

1| With the front panel connectors disconnected, can you jump the pins on the motherboard to power the system back up? To me it does seem like a grounding issue since you're needing to physically fiddle with the connectors, essentially grounding the innards.

2| Your motherboard has a single RGB connector + a single ARGB connector. How are they connected to the case(fans+logo in the front)? From this video it seems like there's nothing controlling/managing the RGB on the case.

I don't have case and can't find much about wiring it up. Shame website doesn't have a downloadable manual

you could contact support

there is meant to be an LED button on the case, its among the front panel switches, use it to swap colors of front panel/fans
Thanks for the reply guys.

@Colif, I'll send them a message. LED button also does nothing.
@Lutfij, I'll check the connectors for a jump option. Fans are not RGB, no connections to the case RGB either, just power, because like you said, it looks like the case manages its own RGB.

I hadn't seen that case brand before recently. Its unusual for a case not to support any of the RGB software that exist now. Most try to integrate with the motherboards put in them... or at least come with a remote you can use to swap colors.

its possible both problems are linked since its on the front panel. Its possible its a bad case... not the model, just the one you got. I expect it happens, every other part you can put in a PC can be busted/broken/bad before you ever touch it.

Update: I've managed to fix the Power Button problem. Poor connection on the switch itself. Removed sleeve, stripped wires, reconnected - 100%

I still haven't heard from the manufacturer after my request about the front panel RGB LED. Checking continuity, wire connections and power this weekend...
