Artifacting - is it my GPU or PSU?

Every couple of hours, really randomly I get a screen shake and I see a colorful bar going through my display. It takes maybe 0.1 sec. No raise in temps or anything like that.
It started happening about a month ago. I am wondering if it's PSU fault or GPU fault.
I have a Sapphire R9 390 Nitro. I bought it new in January and it's not overclocked and lightly used. I have warranty until January 2018.

Should I send it back, or replace my PSU? What can it be? I thought it may be drivers, but I just upgraded to latest and it's still happening.

The artifact appears once every few hours. I don't think I noticed it during heavy load, only during idle, when GPU is at <5% usage and I'm in Chrome / just doing stuff. What do?

Try out another monitor or display cable type first.

If you have CPU based graphics, try removing the card and see if the problem goes away.

If it is happening at idle, I would say it is not the power supply, unless it is just having problems in general. You would likely see more signs of instability if your PSU was hiccuping.

A long shot, but has worked many times in the past for me. Re-seat the card in its slot, might just be a loose pin due to sagging. Assuming an upright case, not really applicable if the motherboard is on its back. Though that doesn't rule out dust of debris in the slot either.

it could be the card or psu .
reseat the card try different driver ect problem oppresists try a different power supply or rma video card.

Today for the first time my PC just froze and I had to turn it off manually. It artifacted for 0.1 sec like usual but after that it just black screened and froze my system (sound distortion in headphones etc).
I restarted PC, it happened again after 5 minutes. I checked voltages and temps but everything seems to be okay... I will try without GPU inserted.

I took the card out, put it in my 2nd PCI-E (the one closer to the bottom on Asrock z77 extreme4) and used different set of cables in the same PSU.
I don't know if it's the driver or what... I installed a fresh system a week ago.

If it happens again, I will RMA the card. Or is it the PSU? I'm so clueless.

I took the card out, put it in my 2nd PCI-E (the one closer to the bottom on Asrock z77 extreme4) and used different set of cables in the same PSU.
I don't know if it's the driver or what... I installed a fresh system a week ago.

If it happens again, I will RMA the card. Or is it the PSU? I'm so clueless.

watched the vid looks like some VRAM going bad on the vid card but ,power supply issues can sometimes see that as well.if ya got a extra power supply or borrow one from a friend ya know thats good .it will help ya eliminate what causing the issue . And it's very very doubtful it's your main board PCI bus going bad but main boards can go bad . It just not that easy to diagnose less ya got another video card that uses the same wattage under load to test it another power supply. Some times when ya get issues ya got to test it a part at a time or rma a part at a time and then go from there

Okay, thanks. I will wait for a bit and if it happens again (because it happened for the first time in 7 months) I will just RMA it and see if it happens again after the repairs...

Np man ant time but power supply issues can sometimes cause attracting . It most definitely the cards or power supply as that's the most common cause
