Hi there. I got a gift from a relative of, a AS Rock B450 Pro 4 MOBO nad Ryzen 3 3200g processor.I had a very old casing in which an old core 2 duo with its Mobo was fixed. I removed tha, Put this Mobo in with the ryzen 3 and the fan etc. the mobo has a power supply 24 pin slot ( the big one). I had a power supply which has 20 pin thingy. so i tried to put that in the mobo, it went in easily leaving 4 holes empty. Ialso plugged in the other 8 pins at the other slot required. I connected the power cable, vga cable etc, but no activity. not even the cpu or PSU fan moving. No beeps coz of no speakers. So do i really need a PSU with 24 pins?? Plz guide me.

Solution
You can use a 20-pin PSU with that motherboard. A 24-pin power connector is just 20-pin + 4-pin. If you see no lights or activity, it's more likely the power supply is dead.

ASRock B450 Pro 4 Motherboard Manual, Page 31 - "This motherboard provides a 24-pin ATX power connector. To use a 20-pin ATX power supply, please plug it along Pin 1 and Pin 13"

Thanx for replying so quick. It turns out i had to only plug in the casing's power switch led cable or whatever that tiny cable was, and it worked. The cpu and the psu fans started. Now i need to know what rams are best for this cpu for gaming. I will buy 2 sticks of 4 gb rams. Total 8 gb. So what speed rams are best and how to put them in the right way.

The 3200g is a Picasso series CPU, so the maximum speed recommended for 2 sticks of RAM [Single rank DIMM] in your motherboard is 2667MHz, but you could probably overclock it higher. They should be located in DIMM slots A2 and B2.

- AMD Ryzen series CPUs (Picasso) support DDR4 2933 / 2667 / 2400 / 2133 non-ECC, un-buffered memory*

Hey there . I got 2 sticks of 4 gb rams. 2400 each. They work. The system showed a display. I am in the bios of the mobo AS ROCK B450 PRO 4. i have dvd rom, and an 80 gb hard drive SATA plugged in. I can't see anywhere in bios any hard drives or boot device dvd rom there in bios. Have put in windows 10 install disc. Dvd rom shows blinking. Cant see any boot devices though. Checked on another system, dvd works fine. Plz guide.

To see your DVD Rom and 80gb hard drive listed go to "Boot > Boot Option Priorities > Boot Option #1". Right below that is "Hard Drive BBS Priorities", click on that option to change the boot order.

so it turns out i am using an AK3500 power supply which is 350 W. It reads
+3.3v 28 A
+5v 35 A
+12v 25 A
-5v 0.5 A
-12 v 0.8 A
+5VSB 2.5 A

One of my friend told me that the DVD rom and the HDD isnt displaying coz of the power supply not enough for it. I think he night be wrong. its a B450 pr0 4 mobo and ryzen 3 3200g cpu/apu. whatdo you think i should do first. is the psu ok? and now i just made a bootable usb win 10 via Rufus. i dont know whats going on...
