News Asetek's key watercooling patent expires today as the company seeks to sell its cooling business

A similar design doesn't mean a copy though so they almost come across as patent trolls if they are basically going after everyone that has a pump in the cpu block... The entire point of the patent system is to devise new ways to do the same thing and the original patent holder needs to actually provide infringement. Sadly many of these companies are not big enough to even think of a lawsuit so different design that is "similar" in what it does still ends up settling for nonsensical reasons

Also if it is that unique that they were allowed to go after anyone making different but similar things it sounds like i5 shouls have been considered FRAND and the licensing of the patent made reasonable for all parties involved.
