Hi,

I'm not sure if its the windows 10 upgrade or the SSD upgrade, which happened around the same time but everytime I boot my PC in the morning for the first time, I always get this "reboot and select proper drive" error. Then I force shutdown using power button and restart it to find that it always boots up windows 10 without problems the second time. It's just so weird that this happens the first time I boot it up for the day. It has no problems the rest of the day, just the beginning of it. I have checked my Bios to see the boot priority and the SSD is first priority. Can someone please let me know what might be causing this? Thanks so much in advance.

sounds like the BIOS info is being lost. If you have a older machine, check the battery on the motherboard, it should look like a flat disk (large watch battery) They tend to last for 5 years or so.

you might also move your drive to a different sata controller and check the cables.
Sometimes if you have a bad connection the drive will not respond until the connection heats up and reconnects. (takes about 8 seconds) this would cause the same effect, the drive would not appear until you power cycle the machine. Check cables, put them on a different sata port or controller. Try the primary controller rather than one feed by a secdonary SATA controller. IE use the slower one supported directly by the CPU chipset.
