ASMedia ASM1061 Slows Boot

Just wondering if anyone out there has this problem, knows how to fix it, or knows whether its normal or not. windows logo was hanging longer than should and finally narrowed the problem to this controller. issue seems to fix when you either disable the Asmedia sata ports in BIOS/UEFI or uninstall the driver.

Make sure that any drives which are connected to that controller are not included in the boot device list in the BIOS.
