News ASML Faces Even Stricter Dutch and U.S. Controls: Report

I wish I knew what the negotiations were, behind the scenes. I believe the US & EU are being careful not to disclose their demands, because they're trying to keep China from losing face if/when it decides to concede. If it became known what the terms were, that would make it much harder for China to agree.

Not to debate the matter, but I really wouldn't be so sure about that. I follow international news as keenly as I do tech. There are some well-known fault-lines between these countries, but it's really a matter of speculation what are the key negotiating points.

neither do the Chinese have any face to lose.
What I mean is that if you know anything about their culture, it's a lot harder for them to concede anything if doing so appears to make them look weaker. That's why I think the negotiations are very hush-hush.
