Aspire tc-605 upgrade advice?

I'm looking to upgrade my computer and would like to upgrade the CPU and RAM. I'm a little unsure what I can upgrade to with this motherboard. Can I choose any Intel LGA 1150 and DDR3? Or is there specific units you guys would suggest?

you could get a i7-4790k and CORSAIR Vengeance Pro (2 x 4GB) 2400mhz memory just for the LOL's. why do u want to upgrade the cpu and ram in particular? most people spend $500 on a new graphics card and only upgrade the CPU+memory with the motherboard/ssd as a combo around holiday seasons when sales occur.

So, my issue is the speed of the computer when editing photos (majorly slow...). The program I mainly use (Lightroom) doesn't take advantage of the GPU (well it can but it's not helpful on the current version) so I assumed that the RAM and CPU is where to go for an upgrade. I've done a ton of file cleaning, uninstallation of programs and such so now I'm assuming that its a hardware problem...

SSDs. One for system/programs one for working RAW photo files.

hmm well if you decide to upgrade your CPU to an i7-4790k, it's 43% faster according to the website (on certain benchmarks, keep in mind). Consider having more threads (aka hyperthreading for multitasking) along with 5ghz turbo clock on the 4790k vs 3.3 ghz on the 4440.

To be honest, Jeremy, editing photos is considered productivity - which is what the i7 is targeting, while the i5 is for casual, mainstream users who mostly game. Hope that helps...
