I recently bought a FX-6300 and wanted to replace my older CPU. I figured I needed to update the BIOS from 1.3 to a newer version. I downloaded the file for the Instant Flash method and put it onto my USB formatted to FAT32. However, when I get into the UEFI menu and click on Instant flash, it says "No Image file detected." Has anyone had this problem?

Solution
Using a .zip file to update a BIOS is essentially using the wrong file. It needs to be unzipped first.

The ASrock 870 Extreme3 does not support AM3+ processors. A BIOS update won't help you there.

You're right. I guess I misinterpreted the MB I have. I actually have the ASRock 870 Extreme3 R2.0 which does support AM3+. I can't believe I missed that. I've been downloading the bios files for the wrong mobo. NO WONDER! :pt1cable:
