Hi, I'm Jewel with Kingston Technical Support and would like to offer our assistance. Kingston ValueRAM is not meant for overclocking and will most like run at the lower speed supported by your motherboard and CPU. The CPU has the memory controller build into it and the AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz actually supports up to 1866MHz, so the memory may run at 1600MHz when installed. If not you may be able to change the timings and frequency in the BIOS. If you want to overclock without making any timing changes you can try out HyperX Fury memory which is designed as PnP overclocking memory. It will run at the highest setting the system supports when installed. You can check that out here: http://www.kingston.com/us/hyperx/memory/fury
