Okay so system specs first:

ASRock 970 Extreme4 Motherboard
AMD Phenom ii x4 965 CPU (not Overclocked)
8GB Corsair Vengeance RAM (1 stick)
HiS 1gHz Radeon HD 7770
Corsair 430w PSU
Seagate 1TB HDD
Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit)

Okay so now for the problem:

My computer has been working just fine for months (I put it together in April, and haven't touched any of the parts since). Suddenly, this morning, after trying to turn on the computer, it gets passed the ASRock Boot up splashscreen, then there is a black screen, with a solid white line, not blinking. All the fans are running and there are no blinking LEDs on the Motherboard to signify a problem. I checked to make sure the HDD was the proper place to boot up in the ASRock Menu, but that's all fine. I decided to plug the HDD into one of the other 4 SATA ports (there's 5 on my motherboard), and still, no luck. I even tried to boot from DVD Drive (I put a windows 7 disc in) and still, no luck. Any ideas for what the problem is? The Motherboard broke perhaps? Thanks.

i'd take that USB drive out of the front if that's still there, and then check the boot order in the bios to see if it's trying to boot from the USB drive. Also the Mobo in the video LOOKED like it hung on code 99 which is a faulty PCI hardware issue, so check your GFX card, or try using the onboard video (if you have it), it's also possible your hard drive died.

Thanks for the advice! Is there anything I do in the BiOS to disable the GPU or do I just unplug it or something? The boot order I have right now is 1) HDD 2) DVD 3) Built In EFI Shell. I don't believe there is any onboard video because there is no output for video other than on my GPU. Is there any way to differentiate between which one is faulty? Thanks!

Thank you SO much. You have fixed my computer. I thought that 99 displayed all the time, but I guess I was wrong. I put my GPU into one of the other PCIe slots, and now I'm back in business, perfectly fine. Thank you so much I was so worried that my hard drive was corrupted! <3
