Asrock 970 pro 3 + fx series

So I have Asrock 970 pro 3 and I need a new cpu to go with Sapphire Radeon HD 7950. Will the FX-6300 be okay? But actually I want to get fx-8320. It is on that mobos cpu support list but will it work great though? NOT planning on overclocking. Other specs: 620w PSU 8GB RAM (My cpu at this time amd phenom II x4 965be)

update the BIOS to P1.50, if you haven't already, then upgrade the CPU; you're done.

So... I take that as the FX-8320 will work on this mobo if I update Bios to P1.50? What about that this is 970 chipset and I read somewhere that the 8- Core cpu will not work great with this mobo. Was I misinformed?

i reckon they meant achieving good, high overclocks on a 970 board. if you're not OCing and just want it to run, it'll do just that at stock.

Ok thanks! And if I plan to OC in the future I can always get 990fx mobo or something.
