so lately i overclocked my cpu and i got it stable at 4.3 ghz with 1.385 vcore and i tried after that to oc the nb frequency and ht bus speed
i did oc the ht at 2400 mhz and default value was 2200 but when i tried to oc the nb frequency from the default(2200) to 2400 it crashed everytime
i even tried to pump the voltage but nothing
my complete rig
asrock 970 pro3 r2.0
fx 8320
4 sticks of ram ( corsair 8gb ddr3 , crucial 4 gb, and 2x 2gb running at 1333 mhz)
gigabyte gtx 750 ti 2 gb
hdd seagate barracuda 1 terra 7200 rpm
a cooler master psu 500w
and a scythe kotetsu with 2 fans at 1600 rpm with decent temps

hi, you dont need to overclock northbridge if you have just 1333MHz ram
northbridge frequency just increases ram bandwith, stock NB frequency can handle 1866MHz ram bandwith
it would make sence to raise NB frequency with 2000MHz+ DDR3 otherwise is just waste of energy pumping it up

if you really need 2400MHz NB frequency, then you will need to keep NB at 2200MHz and raise FSB to 220MHz, that will set your NB to 2420MHz but that willl also overclock your ram to 1466MHz
