I have a strange issue with this brand new board that i've never run into before.
When powered on, all the fans, hdds, etc. spin, but there is no video or beep codes.
If I power on while tapping F2, I go into BIOS with video and all every time. Everything looks normal here- temps, ram config, etc.
If I discard changes in BIOS, I get the normal 'hdd boot failure' message (no os yet). But it won't do this with a normal power on.
The video card was inserted 'correctly' with a screw. I tried removing the screw, and letting the card sit 'naturally' and clamped down with the case's card holder. powering on resulted in 5 beeps here.
I havent done anything silly like forget the 8pin mb connector or not seating the ram properly.
all components apart from the motherboard were tested and working before the rebuild
setup:
amd phenom ii x4 955 be @ stock
thermalright ifx-14 + 2 x 140mm fans
crucial 2x2GB ddr3 1333
radeon hd 5770
850w powercool psu
cm690 case with 4x140mm+2x120mm fans.
