I recently ordered all the parts for my very first gaming and animation PC. I spent all afternoon putting the thing together and after its done, it starts beeping and shows the error code 54, the screen stays blank and I can't access the bios. I have tried using only one ram card and tested every ram slot on the motherboard. But, it won't boot or do anything. I did go with a lesser known ram company (Mushkin) because they were a bit cheaper (I regret doing that now) But, is there a way to test the ram while the pc is in this state, or is an RMA my best option right now? There are no other DDR3 desktops in my house, so I don't have a way to test it in another computer.
Btw, here is the link to my pc parts list http://pcpartpicker.com/p/22sXa
If you guys do think that the ram is the culprit here, would it be better to return it and buy a set of ram thats specifically stated to be supported by the motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104318&Tpk=KHX16C10B1K2%2f16X
or to just try and get a replacement for the ram I have now?
Thanks!
