Which board would be better for overclocking and also performance in general? The Asrock 990FX Extreme4 or Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5? Thought on the Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0 also?

Thanks

Solution
Taking in account both have 8+2 power phase, both would have similar overclocking potential, so your election should be based on:
A) The price you can afford: If you want the most economic one, the AsRock is a great board for much less money than the Gigabyte.
B) Quality of materials: Gygabite is used to employ better materials and include more overclocking especial features than AsRock (i.e.: DualBIOS)
In spite of these, the performance difference between them should be minimum unless you make a great overclock, situation in which Gigabyte would be much better. Taking all of these into account, make a decission depending on ehat you need, price or overclocking performance 😉

First of all, the ASUS equivalent to this two boards would be the ASUS Sabertooth r2.0, not the M5A99FX that only has 6+2 power phase, and consequently, less OC potential.
Second, but not less important, ASUS is very simlar to Gigabyte respect to materials quality and OC features, so once again, everything relies on the price you can get them by.
My advise? Catch the cheapest one (or the one that fits your needs better), you're not going to see any performance difference 😉

Great answer!!Thank you!!
