Asrock 990FX Killer or MSI 970 Gaming

In real need of a motherboard upgrade as im currently using the MSI 970a-G46, one main reason it doesnt match my red/black colour scheme haha. Noticed this new motherboard from MSI and it just looks amazing. After looking it up today it doesnt sounds so amazing. Seems to be having problems again with the VRMs, what is reported to happen on the motherboard i currently have. Ive never had a problem. My only other real option would be the Asrock Killer. It is an extra £40 or so. Which would be better? My cpu would be overclocked to 4.2 Ghz, just what OC geniue OC's it too. So which would be better and if so is there any others that fit my colour scheme that you would recommend? I can provide full system specs if needed. Thanks for any help!

The new MSI 970 Gaming should be better than previous MSI AMD motherboards. It has a 8 power phase design.
Asrock 990FX Killer is quite good as well.
If you're paranoid about the MSI 970 GAMING, then get the Asrock 990FX Killer

I would go with the msi mobo but its your choice on which one you prefer.

I'm currently thinking MSI. I didn't actually realise how new it was. I might hold off for about a month or two to see what others think and see some proper reviews of it. Surely the thermal design can't be that bad. I haven't had any issues with mine

And i think the Gaming is actually a 6+2 power phase design so Asrock 990FX is slightly better.

Thanks for the reply. Read that thread earlier. So long near lost track XD. I'm not so familiar with what power phases really are haha. MSI being 6+2 is the Asrock an 8+2?

Simplified versions, 6+2 and above is good for overclocking with FX 83** and FX 6300.

Yes asrock is an 8+2 power phase design.
