Asrock A320m hdv not setting up DRAM speed?

Hi I have this motherboard paired with an A8 9600 Apu and 2x4gb ddr4 that works at 2400mhz

However from the beginning bios reported my ram speed was @ 2133mhz, no setting to change that btw

I did update Bios to the latest version and then Dram "setting" was available to set up.

However now no matter which speed I set my ram, it has no effect, still it is stuck at 2133.

Is this maybe a faulty bios or what?

Did you set up ram timing manually or you only changed speed?

I have only set ram speed (the only thing bios let me set) but no matter if I put on 1866 or 2600 it will not move from 2133, the other option say something like am4 boot and is on Auto.

They are most likely OEM rams but 2400mhz ones

you can not set DOCP timing on that mb. It will downclock some ram, you should buy from the QVL list: https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/A320M-HDV/index.asp#Memory

So my rams are most likely the problem huh? I would try to test with some friend ram which are from some recognized brand and not like mine, thanks!

I believe the problem is your choice of memory.

check model number of ram you can borrow, if it shows up as 2400 on the list, it should run 2400.

These rams were like half the price of the most cheap 2133 "brand" ram, considering the prices of DDR4 at the day, I will not complain at all if they run at 2133 instead of 2400 btw. I tought it was a mobo thing or something like that
