In all fairness to ASRock.....
It may not have been the MoBo. I tried my best to get help with the situation here at this forum but didn't really get advice that I understood at the time. (I gotta go back to that thread and mark the Solution for the guy who said try Windows10)
One said it was heat....but it did the same thing with a new MoBo and a Hyper 212 EVO.
I feel compelled to explain this in case someone else runs into this issue.
The actual problem was that the OS's I was trying to install simply were not compatible with USB 3.0 and so the mouse and keyboard would not work, making it appears as if it locked up. A PS/2 mouse and keyboard would have allowed the mouse and keyboard to work, but still the OS would be loaded with problems even if the install completed.
Eventually at the advice of one forum member, I downloaded and installed Windows 10 and that worked perfectly across the board. At the time he suggested it, I didn't realize you could download, install and use Windows10 FREE. (I'm still not sure why, but some say Microsoft gets it's money from Business and Commercial use and allows free home use of Windows10).
Anyway, if you try to install an OS on your new system other than Windows10 and it seems to lock up, try a free copy of Windows10 that you can freely download from the Microsoft Windows Official Website.
In any event, I did get a better MoBo out of it all. The AB350M is a step up from the A320M
