Hey, wanna ask if some can clarify this thing

So up until now I'm just using SATA SSD - HDD, and I wanted to add more SSD, which is the M.2 NVMe.
I tried look up at online at the spec of my ASRock B360 Pro 4 storage, and it said something like this :

- 1 x Ultra M.2 Socket (M2_1), supports M Key type 2230/2242/2260/2280 M.2 SATA3 6.0 Gb/s module and M.2 PCI Express module up to Gen3 x4 (32 Gb/s)**
- 1 x M.2 Socket (M2_2), supports M Key type 2230/2242/2260/2280/22110 M.2 SATA3 6.0 Gb/s module and M.2 PCI Express module up to Gen3 x2 (16 Gb/s)**

From those explanations, can I use Klevv SSD CRAS 930/920? They are gen 4, and I ask a friend they said I can still use it but the performance will not be the same.
I was skeptical about that so wanted to make sure.

Solution
The port is PCIe 2.0 x4.
A 4.0 drive will only perform at 3.0 speed, but it will work.

However, your KLEVV is probably not something I'd buy.
Simply because I've never heard of it, and there are other, proven brands with a better track record.

Ah, so basically if the R/W of gen 4 generally is around 7k/5k
even if I use that gen 4 ssd, on my mobo it will be throttled to gen 3 speed? (3k mb-ish)

Will that tear down the ssd quicker or no tho? Thinking to just still buy the gen 4 just in case if I upgrade my mobo later on in the future, seeing that gen 5 just come out last June.. so I guess the staple one will be gen 4 in 2-3 years ahead

Yeah, the Klevv is something that is available in SEA from what I research from youtube and benchmark/hierarchy on the internet coz it's from China.
The price - quality were similar to Adata I guess.

But thanks for the advice! Will try look at other brand too now

It will not affect longevity of the SSD at all.
