Hey everyone,

Quick question about above mentioned board.

I ordered this board 2 weeks ago along with a Ryzen 3 3200G (b/c better deal then 2200G when it was on sale). I looked up that the board will support the CPU with BIOS 3.60 (latest update), so I went and downloaded it and put it on a USB stick.

Now today the package came in and on the outside of the box they stuck a sticker saying Ryzen 3000 ready. Does that mean the BIOS is flashed and ready to go?

I ordered a ryzen 5 2600 for my other rig and will be in next week which i was gonna use to flash BIOS. But now I’m thinking it should be plug-and-play?

In case it turns out the BIOS is not up-to-date, is there any damage done to mobo/CPU when i rig everything up and try to boot it?

Thanks in advance!

Solution
If it has been labelled Ryzen 3000 ready then yes the BIOS should already be updated my friend :)

It's not unheard of for them to actually make a mistake and have not updated the BIOS correctly, but yes it should be plug and play.
There is no damage if not, the PC will simply either:
  • Start and then immediately shut down
  • Boot loop
  • Start up but won't POST

If the motherboard box has the Ryzen Desktop 3000 Ready sticker then it has an updated BIOS that will recognize Ryzen 3000 series CPUs.
You might want to update to the latest BIOS for that motherboard if it currently has an older version on it.
I would check the AsRock support forums and see what other people with that exact same motherboard say about the various BIOS updates and which one works best with a 3000 Series CPU.

Well everything worked like it should. Got everything working and installed Windows 10. Downloaded the latest Radeon driver for the 3200G. And made sure my 1TB HDD shows up in My Computer, as I installed windows on the SSD. Is there anything else i should be doing (other then installing a anti-virus)?

Windows defender is now excellent to be honest. Whilst I have always used a paid antivirus myself, I don't hesitate to recommend Defender now for others who do not wish to do so. The last 12 months or so it has been one of the top contenders for both active protection, accurate protection, and resource usage.

Overall you should consider updating MB/Chipset drivers etc. But directly from the manufacturers website, and avoid using any Driver Updaters.
