Question ASrock B650 Pro RS- BIOS conundrum.

Just built new system around this MB with Ryzen9 7900x and 2x16GB of Kingston 6000MHZ, Cl 32 RAM. It fired up on first shot and works good and stable on standard settings but....
Bios is somewhat of disappointment, looks like some Legacy ones from last century.
MB came with BIOS version 1.24 which is well behind in time having only AGESA ComboAM5 1.0.0.7a.I was able to flash version 2.02 (using instructions for Instant Flash in BIOS) but that comes with AGESA ComboAM5 1.1.0.0. which was somewhat of trouble with Ryzen 5000 series until fixed with 1107(b)
There are 2 more, newer versions with that AGESA and vulnerability fixes but can't be even seen in BIOS let alone installed, they look different with some additions.
"Normal" ones that work look like this
B65MPRS2.02.ROM
Those that are not recognized are in format like this
B650PRS2.08.AS01.ROM
B650PRS2.06.AS03.ROM
B650PRS2.05.N09.ROM
and some earlier ones like this one
B65MPRS1.29.AS01.ROM

I tried renaming them but still not seen by InstantFlash. which is set same as ones that worked.

I assume you looked at

not sure what difference is in the two processes.

close to your model

Someone else had same error on same motherboard recently - link - but no answer. Maybe stay on 2.02 since the other two are still in beta.

Not all CPU behave same way, could be new CPU is fine on that AGESA version. I found swapping from 3600 to 5800x3d fixed problems I was having.

Tnx. Looks like I have no other choice but to stick to 2.02 unless I find way and reason to upgrade to beta. 2.08. I updated BIOS hundreds of time thru may years but always was cautious and prefer directly from BIOS mo SW or blindly with Flashback.
I was more interested in their names/designations with that "extra" part like AS01 for instance. If they put it up, must be some way to use it.

i saw they older versions.. It basically shows it hasn't changed that much since the 1st instructions to now, just what the screens look like.

I can't see any results for anyone using a BIOS number after 202. Only this post comes up.

I think I would wait until 208 comes out of beta, or is replaced for a full version. If problem persists, I would ask on:

3rd page here looks sort of familiar from somewhere
https://www.asrock.com/support/forum.asp

Are you having any actual problems apart from BIOS not updating?

Yeah, I got nowhere with updating so will have to wait. Looks like they are working on it. Since I've seen list first time couple of weeks ago they took down 2.05 and moved forward date on 2.08.Didn't have any problem upgrading to 2.02 and it's working pretty well.
