I just to buy a Asrock Deskmini 110 with i7-7700 and stock fan.

The temperature is very very high 85-90º if I put a 4k video and make anymore.

tomorrow I will try with a Noctua NH-L9i.

do you think will be better?

I think this cpu is too much for this small box....(I hope I am wrong)

Yes, box is too small for the stock cooler for that CPU, NH-L9i may help, but that case has no airflow so that will always be a problem.

The intel stock fan and noctua fan both may not able to remove hot air from the case properly, because... they blow air "down" onto the cpu/motherboard, and since there are no other fans to move the air afterwards, think it just circles backaround to the top of the cpu cooler and gets sucked back in.

By 4k video do you mean rendering one? Then no that little guy isn't meant for that kind of work duty where you push the CPU to 100% for hours on end.

If you mean just playing a 4k video then something else is wrong because it should not be getting that hot just to play a video.

4k and up videos can be very CPU intensive. If the hot air is just recirculating like I suspect, than that would also be the contributing factor.

For example, this video will crush your CPU: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1La4QzGeaaQ

a friend will buy me the i7 7700 :bounce:

I will buy the i7-7700t now[strike][/strike]

my Asrock Deskmini 110:

Noctua Nh-L9i
32Gb ddr4 2400Mhz so-dimm (2x16GB)
250GB SSD M.2 PCie
500 GB SSD 2.5"

Seems there's basically no circulation in that case which I suspect is the issue, and the 7700/7700K has heat spike issues as well (stated by Intel) and I fixed it myself by undervolting (to 1.22v).

Boiy does it ever, but I think you were referring to the 8K one (4320), (3840x)2160 is the 4K one which is fine (60% on my i7 7700).

this is the mark by userbenchmark

I know this is an old thread, but it came up in my search and I would like to contribute useful info for anyone who finds this in the future.

I have an Asrock Deskmini 110 with an i7-7700 (non K) and the stock CPU cooler. I was having issues with the temperature getting high and the CPU throttling and randomly shutting down under high CPU loads. I removed the stock cooler and put on a Noctua NH-L9i CPU cooler. Its 37mm tall and fts without issues. My temperatures under high CPU loads dropped from the 97-100+C range to the 76-80C range. Also my benchmark results are higher in some benchmarks due tot he CPU not throttling.

I was considering delidding the CPU, but with the huge temperature drop, its probably not necessary.
