Would a Asrock Extreme3 Gen3 Z68 1155 which supports 1333hmz and 1600mh+ work with a i3 2100 which only supports 1333hmz? As in, would i be able to downclock the RAM to made it work with the CPU? if so, how would i do about doing that?

Solution
1333 is the stock speed, not the only speed it supports. You can run the ram at any speed it is capable, up or down. If the ram states 1600, that is the max speed it's rated at, and what the xmp will be. It will have lower spd profiles for compatibility as well as the possibility of being able to oc higher.
Hmm... What doesn't really answer my question. Most boards allow 2133mhz(OC)RAM. And second, the i3 2100 supports >1333hmz, so i'm wondering if i could downclock from 1600hmz to 1333hmz
