Sorry for opening another thread.
Im having some troubles making a decission between them.

I like asrock because the blue color.
The BIG con is the famous problem with the power after unplug the mobo.

On the other hand, asus a seems to be recommended more ofter, but its uglier and i think it havent dual bios, i dont know if its a critical feature, but...

I dont know, shoul i take the risk and go for the extreme 4 or the asus a is better in any cases?

z97 chipset

Thank you.

Why do you think they've dropped support for the Sabertooth? And as far as the disk that came with it, it was probably out of date when you got the mobo 😉 I and most builders I know toss those disks or just leave them in the box.

As far as updates go, most of them are for all the new DRAM that kept rolling out, as well as things like M.2 in it's various iterations, and other new products.....generally well ahead of the rest of the manufacturers.

Also it's 109 models - you're counting the open Open box items also....might also look at selection - they are going out for the Micro, mini, uATX market which composes 59 of the offerings. Also have multiple...
well how may bios updates does the asus have all ready ?? twice as many as the asrock ?? what boards ?? x87? z97 ? what???

I ditched al my ustable and wads of bios upating asus boards for asrock stable out of the box ones ?? still on first release and never needed to have to flash yet [cpu's were supported under all bios]

I just feel asus is more on hype then quality these days and not the same asus I grew up with

in the end it all comes down to what you feel is best for you and fits your needs and personal preference

Sorry about that.
z97.
So you think extreme 4 is better?
What about the problem i metioned?

My bad, missed the Z97 in the title, sorry. of the two I'd go the Asus Z97-A, both are good mobos, I've done 13 builds on the Z97-A and all the clients love them

It was my fault xd, i edited the title.
And what about the lack of dual bios? isnt it a handicap?
Thank you.

nothing - you chose the one you feel is the better fit to your needs and all you can conceder -- you buy ,try and hope it don't make you cry

whats funny is I go to asus and products -motherboard series - and choose z97 all they list is 2 boards ??

https://www.asus.com/us/motherboards/

kinda goes to what I was getting at with asus ?? wheres the rest of them ??

then I go back and do it again and choose 1150 this is all ??

There's nopthing wrong with the Rock mobo, I also do client builds on t Rock and GB mobos, but I've found Asus to be more consistent with keeping the BIOSs up to date, better tuning ability via the BIOS, have always had high quality mobos. I sort of shied away a little with their 1155 mobos, but they seemed tpo roar back with the 1150 release and have kept it up

no its there board are so unstable out of the box that board not so bad but when you got a board that's been out in less then a year and all ready got 18 bios updats for ''improve stability '' something s up with that and theres a lot of asus like that ..

like my sabertooth 990fx they droped all support of it nothing so now if I were to losse the driver disk that came with it its done for ?? that's asus

also how they like to have a 140w speced board but has support for a 220w chips ?? I bet that gets hot quickly?? [lol] ya , asus I feel got too big for there britches and can keep up and goof thing these days

look how may 1151 boards they got listed at newegg ?? 124 just for that and on top of all the rest to keep up with [and its showing ]

in the end you got to do what ''you'' feel is best for ''you'' as you see a lot can come down to personal preference and user experience with any brand ..

he says she says and then the guy down the road says ????

good luck

sorry I was wrong the z97-a has a wad of bios,s they just stopped listing them all and cut the list of them

first release loks to be 0604 in the cpu listing but the support page starts at 2205 .. so many they cant list them all to make it stable [or ashamed to list them all ]

Also have multiple version of long time models (and even newer, a couple of STs, a couple of the Hero, etc. Some new ones, etc. When your the biggest seller of mobos, I think it's expected to have the largest selection, they want to stay the highest selling and to continue growing their lead. :)
