Asrock Extreme3 z77 not recognizing 4 sticks of ram.

Hi all, been trying to finish my computer by sticking 2 more sticks of 4 gig ram in. For some reason though, my computer won't recognize the new sticks. All four are the exact same brand, speed, and size. I'm using Corsair Vengeance DDR3 ram, all 4 gigs, 4 sticks all together. I'm also running with a power supply that should be giving plenty of power, and everything works great aside from this issue of not recognizing more than 2 sticks of ram. It still recognizes 8 gigs worth of ram, but it should be 16 gigs. I've been through 2 packages of new ram trying to get it to work, thought the first had a stick that was DOA, but now I have my doubts. The first sticks I got work great, and have since I've built the computer. As said in the title I'm running with a Asrock Extreme3 z77 mobo, a GTX 660 ti graphics card, i7 processor, and I think an 800w power supply. Thanks for the help in advance.

Update: Have updated the bios, ram still not being detected, and only using 8 gigs. Also have previously used other two slots so I know they work, but for some reason all 4 won't work.

Definitely update the BIOS if needed, could be simply the sticks don't want to play together, which is all to common, mixing sticks, even of same exact model can be and often is problematic. Let me know the actual model # of the DRAM, can possibly get them to play with a voltage adjustment or two and I'm guessing here, a change to the tRFC timing

The model number is CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B for the ram. If there's anything else you need let me know, and thanks for the help.a

All right let's try going into BIOS and enable XMP, select profile 1 (might save some manual changes), then ensure freq is at 1600, base timings ate 9-9-9-24, change DRAM voltage to 1.56 (should be at 1.5), then find VTT or CPUVTT voltage (that will be for the MC (memory controller) and well try it at 1.175 initially (or as close as you can get to that), and while there take a look in the DRAM advanced timings and see what the tRFC is at and let me know if the above doesn't stabilize things

Sorry it took me so long to get back to this post, had to find a time I could mess with the settings, which also did not work. My computer also had a bit of trouble starting back up when I messed with the voltage, so I changed the settings back to what they were before, which was on Auto. The tRFC was at 174. Thanks.
