Just bought the Asrock Fatality z97 motherboard. I know this will seem odd but I'm trying to use vista. (I can't afford win7 till dec). Anyways, pc is up and running but the drivers for Atheros Killer Lan do not work for vista. I tried to install them anyways via memery card transfer but they failed each time. I'm new to this sort of thing, never had an issue like this (drivers for old os). I did see someone posting they were using the board with xp but I don't know how to find them. Anyone have any ideas on what to do? I did scour the internet but couldn't find anything but drivers for an old Atheros network card and the vista link was lost. Not sure if that would even work with new hardware. If you have any advice please let me know. My pc is useless without an internet connection. All games now a days require internet, plus I only ever buy them off steam anymore. thanks

well in that case ok-- this is why I had to get off vista I liked vista myself [better than I do 7 ] but some reason it got black sheep'ed like amd tried to drop all support for it and pissed a lot of users off over that if you look around at a lot of driver packs it shows support for XP-7 8 amd 8.1 but no vista

you may try to force 7 drivers in its place but theres no guarantees

No, not supported. I did see this but figured it worth a shot. I know there has to be a fix to this as the guy I mentioned was using xp. And use the disk.. disk doesn't list drivers as I'm using vista. Funny thing, I gave away my copy of win 7 to a friend awhile back. Helped him build his pc but he didn't know that he would need to reinstall an os. I didn't want to give it to him but he was crushed when I told him this. Anyways, anyone here not going to be a smart ass about this? I'm sure I'm not the first person to run into a problem like this.
