asrock h170 fatality performance: i7 7700k and max. memory speed

Solution

That board supports a max of DDR4 2133, thats what it supports you can buy faster ram but it will run at 2133 and you won't have the option to overclock it, for those feature you need a Z170 or Z270.

Now if you get a B250 or H270 to go with that Kaby Lake CPU then you could run at DDR4 2400.

lol, thanks for stating the obvious. i was talking about ram speeds that exceed specifications. like, what is the highest speed possible with the chipset? and are there differences between h170 and z170?
