Hi All,

New to forums here (shows how desperate I am for a fix)

I recently built my PC with a ASRock H410m-ITX/ac and never had this problem until today.

I play games using a ps4 controller via Bluetooth but now it doesn't seem to work.
My PC can pair and connect to it but the game doesn't detect a controller. Same for other BT devices like a BT speaker.
The devices aren't faulty because it works on another PC via BT.

I've tried updating drivers, even reset my PC and still nothing.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Cheers!

Hi Colif,

I got my BT driver from https://www.asrock.com/MB/Intel/H410M-ITXac/#Download initially but when it still didnt work, i went on to intel, https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005489/network-and-io/wireless.html.

I ran the driver support assistant, it only updated my wifi driver.

Problem is still there :(

I started noticing my BT devices (controller and earphones) dropping out every now and then about 2 weeks ago. this only started happening when i started using wireless earphones. when i was just using the controller, there were no issues at all for a few months. I then stopped using the wireless earphones but then a few days later, my controller stopped working.

I also noticed that on other computers, when paired and connected with the controller, it pops up with "setting up controller" or something along those lines. but it doesnt happen on my PC at all.

UPDATE

I connected the ps4 controller to another PC that works and observed the device manager. compared to my PC, the following are missing on my PC.
  • Bluetooth HID Device
  • HID-compliant game controller

So odd it just stopped. Did you get a windows update on same day?

Have you got latest BIOS on motherboard? - https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/H410M-ITXac/#BIOS

some pc the BT just stops working, I found out last week, the answer is to unplug PC and start it again. It might not work, just thought I mention it.
There was an update for the removal of Adobe Flash Player on the same day.

i have v1.10 for BIOS, latest is v1.20

Is the issue here the BT though? Even though it can pair and connect with BT devices.

Well ill be damned. i unplugged my PC only because I needed to power up my printer for a bit but i ended up leaving my PC unplugged for the whole day.
I remembered what you said about unplugging the PC but never got around to doing it. BT works again...

Thanks for your help Colif! Should've done that right away
