Hey guys so I've got a small rig going on with a 3570 and one of my 290s only problem is I can't get my motherboard to detect my gpu. It's displaying no signal through hdmi or display port. All bios settings seem to be set correctly. Pcie is set a primary etc just no luck? I know this card works because it's fresh out of my main rig. Also bios version is up to date. Connected to psu correctly which is a cx750m and the fans spin

Solution

Hey dude, if it is getting detected as a standard vga adapter, is it possible that ur motherboard drivers are incomplete.. After updating the mbd drivers, using the amd autodetect utility should defntly solve the problem..

PS. sorry for the late reply, I was a li'l tied up.. 🙂)
very nice to see that u have updated BIOS.. Also the CX750M is a quality PSU.. If the 290 is verified working then we might need to see if it is a problem with the H61M's x16 PCIe slot.. These older H61 boards do develop some niggles, u know..

Cheers anurag is there anyway to check the pcie lane is working? Power is getting to it because the fans on the gpu spin regardless of its it's plugged in via the psu or not. It just doesn't want to detect it, I've tried everything reseated ram, fresh windows install. Device manager is showing as "standard vga adapter" even the Intel HD is not detected correctly. I've even cleared cmos, forgot to mention this motherboard is brand new and the r2.0 version

Ok buddy I'll definitely check that out, not sure if the "standard vga adapter" in device manager is the Intel onboard gpu or the r9 290 I'll look into it when I get back from work :)

Hey matty!
I have the exact same problem with this mb!
I tried two gpu (r9 280x and gtx 1060) and the MB didnt detect one of them...
Just like yours, the vga graphic card was to see...
I will send my mb back to the seller and hope that they will fix that, I think the pcie slot doesn t work well!

I also tried the biosflash, installed win7 new and all that stuff, baut at least didnt work...

Did you solve that problem?

I only bought this mb because I have an i7 2600...
