Hi all,

I am putting together a build using the following:

  • H81M-DGS R2.0 Motherboard
    Intel i3-4170 CPU
    Crucial - 4GB DDR3 1600 Memory
ACE PSUACE550BR Fixed ATX PSU - 550W Black with 120mm Red Fan
    Push button

I've installed the CPU, stock heatsink fan, 4gb RAM and also plugged in the ATX 12V Power Connector (ATX12V1) & ATX Power Connector (ATXPWR1).

The problem I'm having is that when I press the push button the PSU and stock heatsink fan switch on for about 2 seconds and then shut down again.

Can anyone suggest what is causing this issue?

Many thanks,

Chris

Solution
Hi Paul,

Thanks for your reply once again. I've managed to find the solution to the problem so will write it below just in case anyone else encounters a similar issue.

The problem was that when I initially seated the i3 CPU it must have been at a slight angle meaning a few of the small pins on the motherboard were bent. To rectify it I had to place the motherboard under a microscope and re-straighten the pins by hand using a pair of fine tweezers.

Since doing the above the motherboard no boots up to the correct bios page.
