Hello
a week ago i decide to change the motherboard for my pc so i bought an ASROCK H97 Fatal1ty performance and I set it up.The first three days everything was ok but yesterday i execute an application installed with the drivers with live update of these ,included BIOS. So version 2.10 of bios downloaded and after reboot installed. But after that the pc freezes in the first screen of bios and cannot boot.Says only bios date 04/09/2015 16:26:35 and at the bottom right corner the code 9D with small characters. Please tell me what to do.I spent a lot of money to purchase and upgrade my pc and now is not working.
The cpu is Pentium g3420 and 8 gb Ram. No graphic card installed.Just 5 disks and another one external .

Solution
Ok, for future reference, if your PC is functioning normally please do not update the bios. A small error in a bios update can render the bios unusable.

Dr Debug code 99 is a Super IO error, which is exactly what you have as your bios is not initialising, although your mobo is not doing what you want it is actually functioning normally. To rectify this we will attempt to clear the CMOS, which should reset your bios.

Turn off the mains power. Turn off your PSU on the back of your PC, leave the cable plugged in.
Try not to stand on carpet or wear nylon when touching electrical components as static is very damaging.
You will need to open up your case, look for a large watch battery. It will be between your PCI-Ex slots. Remove...
Interesting - Page 91: "Boot Failure Guard If the computer fails to boot for a number of times the system automatically restores the default settings." Have you tried to boot the system multiple times? My guess would be 3 to 5. Also - if you hit what ever key it is to get into the BIOS just as you turn the system on - you may get lucky and get into the BIOS - possibly not since this was via a BIOS Update...

Hello

I tried many many times more than 3 or 4 .NOthing change except the code at the right corner. If I push the reset the code becomes 99 if i make a cold boot again the code is 9D

There should now be no power anywhere in your system. Leave it alone for 15 minutes. Press the power on button a couple times, replace the battery and try to power up your PC.

The above actions should clear the CMOS enabling you to get into your bios again. If it does not you may have to contact Asrock and ask for a replacement bios chip.

Furthermore the boot failure guard mentioned earlier is to do with overclocking settings, it has nothing to do with a potentially failed bios update.

Solution
OH!! So you actually got a Dr Debug code........... From what I can find a 99 = "Super IO Initialization" and a 9D = "USB Enable" Maybe try pulling everything out - specifically you're video and anything in the PCI slots - plug your monitor into the motherboard and try again.

Hello

I did excactly what you wrote. The pc started at last .But the same problem occurs when reboot it from windows.Says 99 again. BUT now if that time i reset it from the button start again normaly.Strange .Something else I notice is that bios detets only 4 disks and one DVD BUT windows have access to 5 disks and one DVD normaly.I don't understand it.Anyway is working now but I am afraid to have future problems. We will see. Thanks a lot

Did you use the Asrock utility to flash your bios?
Please try running the utility again, it might just sort itself out.
Have as few open programs as possible, no internet windows, no file sharing, no steam/origin/uplay when you do the update.

Dont use tools that automatically updates your bios, are full of bugs, always do your bios update manually, it is not hard, go to your motherboard website, download, bios (be careful not to download beta bios, it will be stable and beta notifications, asrock has a special section for beta bios and drivers so will be ok if u go to download, bios) now put the bios file on a stick (not sure if the zip file or u have to extract the zip file, i usually put the zip file and the extracted content) now insert stick, go to bios, and instant flash bios and u will be 100% sure that the bios was installed correctly.

Hello again

Yes I used the Asrock utility called F-stream tuning .Anyway as the system is working I am afraid to do any other modification .I am leaving it as it is.Thanks a lot for your help.

The OP already used the utility, which is why I recommended running it again.

ASrock specify to use their flash utility as the bios files are at times not named *.rom and must be used with the utility. This varies between mobo's however.

I have an Asrock motherboard, successfully updated several times.

Ok. If you feel the urge to sort it out at some point the Asrock downloads section, as Dragos Manea pointed out, contains the bios files. Here is the link for the H97 Fatal1ty Performance: http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Fatal1ty%20H97%20Performance/?cat=Download&os=BIOS

The file you want is 2.10, update under Windows.

If you have the Fatal1ty Killer: http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Fatal1ty%20H97%20Killer/?cat=Download&os=BIOS

The file you want is 2.20, update under windows.

Follow all instructions Asrock give you exactly when performing these steps.
